2020 Recruitment are working with our client to recruit an experienced Marine Maintenance Engineer to join their team based in Liverpool on a permanent contract.

The Role
As a Marine Engineer, you will support the Technical Manager in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of a fleet of vessels operating within a Pilot Boat Service contract.
You will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of engineering, electrical and hull systems across a range of vessels, including pilot boats, gig boats, oil spill response vessels and survey boats. The role also includes participation in an on-call rota to support operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out the responsibilities of the Duty Engineer as part of the on-call rota.
- Complete planned maintenance activities in line with scheduled maintenance programmes.
- Assist with maintaining stocks of mechanical and electrical spare parts.
- Maintain accurate engineering records, documentation and checklists.
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to ensure vessels remain operational.
- Support the Technical Manager in maintaining the safety, reliability and performance of the fleet.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A recognised apprenticeship or equivalent experience as a Marine Engineer, Plant Engineer, 4th Engineer or similar engineering discipline.
- Experience maintaining and repairing marine engineering and electrical systems.
- A flexible approach to working hours and the ability to participate in an on-call rota every third week.
- A full UK Driving Licence.
- The ability to commute within one hour of the Liverpool marine base.
